Techniques - Casting Replicas
It takes much time and effort to produce a sculpture similar to the Green-man. I have made a mould of the Green-man, allowing me to produce replicas in cast plaster (for indoor use) and in cast lead (for outdoor display).To make a lead replica, I would use the following technique:

| 1. Pouncing - Prevents pattern sticking | 2. Tamping - Consolidates sand |

| 3. Strickling Off - Produces flat base | 4. Forming the Sprue - Aids pouring |
 |
 |
| 5. Melting the Lead - On the forge | 6. Pouring molten lead at 320°C |
 |
 |
| 7. Breaking cast from the mould | 8. Cleaning sand off the cast |
